Our bodies are designed for movement and as Pilates teachers we want to deepen our understanding of how spinal discs move, adapt, and respond to load in both healthy and compromised spines. Through embodied exploration, clear anatomical context, and practical movement examples, learn how to feel disc behavior rather than rely solely on abstract cues or fixed rules. Examine common movement patterns and teaching habits that may contribute to disc strain, and explore strategies that support disc hydration, load distribution, and resilience. You’ll gain practical tools to help reduce injury risk, recognize red flags, and confidently support clients who are recovering from disc-related issues within appropriate scope of practice.
